Winter blues finally got the best of my peachy demeanor
Dear Mr. Groundhog,
Please tell me, What did I do? To deserve All this ice And this cold And feel blue? Frankly, Mr. Groundhog, I'm sick of this s**t! I wish you would retire, die, quit. Gah! Sometimes, I wish you were blind! You'd search for that shadow, Search, But not find. And in the search for your shadow, so dear, You'll come upon a hunter, grinning, from ear to ear. Eureka! I've found the elixir for feelings so blue. A nice hearty bowl of hot groundhog stew.
Humor is the splice of life, my friend. I'm glad that you can see that and incorporate it into your poems. Sorry if it wasn't intended to be humorous, but it did come across that way to me. Just a matter of opinion: since you begin the poem as a letter, why not write the poem like a letter? Dear Mr. Groundhog, Message, and then close the letter. Anyways, that's not necessary. No redundancy can be found. Excellent rhythm and flow. Good rhyming too.
Sorry this review is short. I usually do a bit longer, but I guess shorter means I couldn't find as much wrong with it. [; 9.6/10.
This is funny and I am feel that way. i am ready for spring to be here as well. Killing off the groundhog is a great way to end the winter blues even if it doesn't bring the spring
Humorous. I am sick of this crap ice/snow too. You tell that b*****d just how you hope for his demise. Also, you tell him how great he would taste! Love it.
This is funny and yes i am feeling the winter blues myself...Just thankful i have a roof over my head...My heart gos out to all those who have no homes in this dead of winter snow-accain :)
Well I am a girl from the cold state of WI and I have to say I agree with this poem but love it even more. I think those bitten by winter's frost could understand and appreciate this poem more! Great write
HAHA I've felt a little this way myself lately, though here we don't have to deal with snow and ice, only rain...and a very little rain in comparision to some parts of the country, or world, so I shouldn't be complaining. It's all relative, though...and I sense your frustration, it played out here quite well. Enjoy your stew. :)
