This is Home.

This is Home.

A Poem by Andrew
"

A country boy at heart.

"

The bitter winds snap at my face

As a full moon reflects majestically

Off the snow and lights the way.

This is country. This is home.

The sun beats down harder than any whip

On my exposed back as we work

In the fields all day long.

This is country. This is home.

Leaves change colors like fireworks in the night sky

Their last show of beauty before they fall

To the ground and rust.

This is country. This is home.

Rebirth,

With the coming of new vibrant colors

Life springs forward grateful for the opportunity.

This is country. This is home.

I've always hailed from the city streets

And I'm doubtful that will change.

But the days and nights of country life

Never left home the same.

Author's Note

Andrew
I'm trying to break out of my comfort zone here. Less rhymes more powerful language and a lot wordier than my usual style of writing. Let me know what you think, please.

I agree. I'm from the city but, prefer the country. I wish I was back. Thank you for the beautiful reminder.
