Lost Time

Lost Time

A Poem by Andrew

Time lost,
is never found.
I’ve burried mine
under the ground.
The dirt.
The silt.
The clay.
The rock.
I’ve decided to hide
my life’s clock.

And once I’ve shaken this sense of time,
no longer will I be confined.
And without time
I may be free.
Yet, without time
I cannot see.

And everything I love
is equally free.
Every moment I’ve cherished
is gone in the breeze.

Time is not the enemy.
It is here so that
we may seize.
The day.
The moment.
Right now.

So I run back
to where I let time down.
And through the dirt,
the silt,
the clay,
and the rock.
I’m lucky enough
To find my clock.

Author's Note

Andrew
I'm relatively new to this. I started writing to pass time and usually don't share. It's easier when I don't know anyone. Any kind of criticism is welcome. I actually prefer more comments on ways I can improve than praise without any suggestions for improvement. But positive comments are also always welcome.
Thanks

Drew

this was a rlly good poem...i rlly liked reading this because i agree that it would be nice if time wasnt a worry but ur completely right that it makes us seize the day...the only advice i have to say is when you say "And through the dirt, the silt, the clay, and the rock." maybe take out the and...i think it flows better that way...anyways just a thought and good poem :)

Nice idea--making time tangable! You did well. Also, kind of refers to youth vs. old age: "So I run back
to where I let time down.
And through the dirt,
the silt,
the clay,
and the rock.
I’m lucky enough
To find my clock."

I really like the concept of this poem! All your poems seem to have a purpose to them and that is good! I like the line "my life's clock", how you give the time we have here a physical form:) Keep writing!!!
