Settlers of CatanA Poem by Drew GivenYou know you play this game too much when...O' come sit at my table, brave settlers of Catan and roll the dice to see which hexes we are on
Place your settlements or your cities Depending on the game For playing with expansions means nothing is the same
The pieces have been placed, the order has been set and for the next few hours our friendships we forget
For the moment we are safe from the barbarian black ship so for just a few turns our cities won't take a hit
So now the die are rolled and the game of chance begins and if you're poorly settled, on luck your game depends
No trades are made to start While resources are dear Now is time to build the knights, the barbarians are near
The first attack was no success, your knights have thrown them back But now rolling a seven Will make the robber tact
The resources are now flowing The players are settled in When we roll the dice The real Catan begins
Commodities are crucial As is the colored die And now come in the cards That make you want to cry
The points are adding up, the players are growing suspicious, And now I'm going to play trade monopoly on wheat You son of a b***h! F**k Okay, three ores and two wheats to build a city, and I'm going to play four books to get a utopia, and I win Wait, I just realized I had longest trade route which means I should have won like three turns ago You didn't say anything, that's your fault Hold on, hold on. Can we talk about this? No dude, I win. F**k off Bro, I beat you, I just didn't know Then you didn't beat me. This doesn't count as a full win What? That's stupid No. If anything, we split the win. That's fair. Deal, then. I have to go home. Yeah, I'm going to bed. Next weekend? Next weekend. © 2015 Drew GivenReviews
