Driving Away from Me

Driving Away from Me

A Poem by Dillon Gay

Flourescent lights, cold
Make me a drone
In a closed space, bubbles
Lean over here
Kick me
Beg my attention

Confidence trip, bold
Color me sold
You were fool's gold, trouble
Tell me I'm wrong
Force me
Straighten my head

That's what you did, told
You told me no
Rose tinted eyes, betrayed
Thought for so long
But wrong
Back to the foe

In corporate hell, mode
I conceal this
Now after waiting, unfazed
New dissonance
You show
A friendship ends

I'd continue, road
If you'd travel
Over with me, journey
If you get passed
The one
Who entertains you

Here I wait, cold
Yet no other
Has such a hold, worry
Worry I do
It will
Never come through

Amazing. So full of dark emotions. The end is so...strong, i loved it. Very well written.
