To the Mother

To the Mother

A Poem by Dillon Gay

As above, so below
Take me away to things I want to know
Swallow the red pill
Down the blue one
Give me blissful knowledge until I am none

One with the universe
Cliche of enlightenment
In itself, a sort of atonment
To seek it is a curse

Come down, understand me
It isn't hard to fathom
Hold me, allow me to see
The darkness that pervades the light
Until we all enjoy your might

Touch the goddess
Let her speak
Take her as your mistress
Tell her you are meek

Let go, face down
Everything left to conquer
Has left you hunger prone
As you attempt to fill this hollow
Don't let your peers follow

Down one path
Exit another
Moving too fast
Crash into the Mother
