The Pagan`s SongA Poem by DfWigleyHail to thee, O ancients past The symbol of our rites dost cast. And people in the forest seen, Who worship the sacred evergreen. Hail to thee, the majestic Beech Our prayers O hear, we do impeach For our oath to you have sworn And dance until the light of dawn. Hail to thee, the Holly bright Proud upon the snowy night. Of berries red, far the least A luncheon for the feathered beast. Hail to thee, the Chestnut there, Give fruits to us of roasted fare. And master of the woodland lives A feast for us the Chestnut gives. And lastly to thee, the mighty Oak The prayers are such that you evoke. We hang our symbols on your bows, For Pagan ritual and sacred vows. © 2011 DfWigleyReviews
