Reflection

Reflection

A Poem by Duane Klinger
"

Just a poetic freewrite

"

I come undone, unraveled to the core.

I am weak and I am broken.

I reach for you, you are not there.

I beg you to stay, you go.

I am a reflection of the past.

Was it me?

Was it you?

I am weak and I am broken.

I fight to stay together but I break.

I pray but all goes unanswered.

I am but a reflection and you. . .

You are but a shadow of the past.

I am by no means a poet. This was just a freewrite I did when I thought I was losing my boyfriend. Please take it easy on me.

So emotional love! This is a great poem...never doubt your poetic skills, what makes this work so well is the fact that it is from the heart and that is art in itself! xx

I actually liked it qiute a bit. One can hear the loss of love and almost a hint of giving up. Very nice job Mr I am not a poet. What is it that makes a poet? xo

Well, Mr. Kline, 99% of the self-proclaimed poets on this site aren't poets. This, though understandably short (it's hard to make something of this nature much longer without it becoming terribly dull), is, in my opinion, much better than half of those people.

Full of emotion, and it's obvious, so that's a plus. It's plainly inspired by some negative situation--another plus, as most good art comes from using negativity as an outlet.

You do have the poetic spark, nonetheless. Good job.

This poem could not be done any greater justice that to be
coupled with an acoustic guitar. Make it happen!
