Childhood memoirs

Childhood memoirs

A Poem by Butterfly Ninja :3

Life was hard

A burden to carry

We did with we could

 Then on the contrary

Food so scarce, barely enough

 Because scavenging like animals

                                Wasn’t enough

From riches to rags

We lost all we had

Cooling drafts killed off

Almost all of the family I had

Boots and soldiers catch my eyes

I hide behind stairs waiting for them to leave

Smell of corpses littered the street

My brain awake, so hard was it to sleep

Little by little this room went bare

The only thing left are the memoirs of this child and                        the hairs on their head
