Calcutta

Calcutta

A Poem by Dibbo

I looked through the window

To find tall buildings waving at me

I walked down the streets,

To find known faces looking at me

I face the sky,

to see the clouds giving way to the sun

The warmth in the air

The dust in the air

The fondness in people

The hurry in people

It calls you with open arms

It tells you a new story every-time.

Dark alleyways, cramped roads,

Heritage buildings, spectacular structures

The quest is never ending;

For power, life, love...........

With all your dark past and present glory------

I love you; my three hundred years old beauty.

I liked this poem! : ) The personification was great and you were descriptive to the point where I felt like I was there with you. Excellent job!
