The pond

The pond

A Poem by Miranda E. Garner

It calls me
It tells me that it can stop my worries
It makes me follow it through the forest
We stop at a dark pond
It loures me in
I don't want to go
But my body moves on its own
I'm quickly encased by darkness
I am surronded by death
I am not the first to be loured
bony hands grab me
They pull me in deeper
I let out my last breaths
My body sinks into the mud
And the world goes dark...
