Two FreeA Poem by Davy JonesWhat happens when you love but cannot be bound by it?
A tale I tell
But I tell no tales A real story this Not one for sales A sparrow once flew out the nest Growing wings so strong Soaring up, flying far along Promising love, only the best Another flew out, another nest Yearning, hoping, and singing along In dark nights her morning song A willing heart in her chest Away they met, far away from home Together they sang some lovely tunes Loving each other for twenty moons Streaming clouds with honey poems Flying together side by side Stagnant they could never be Even an embrace'd a net be Bound by love, and yet free And one day, one day they parted Flying kisses, flying departed Loving still, still loving unending No promises, promises remembering. Away they went, away in space Hearts still loving, divine embrace Knowing the freedom each other retained Peace it gave them, a peace regained Only now sometimes she sees A he and she with a family Flying back in, into their nest Thats when free love comes to test Thats when longing comes in play Thats when he feels so far away All that love it feels in vain A life of love, a life of pain? And he feels, he feels the same The mind still free, too free to frame Wonders what it would have been Had they let embraces in. © 2011 Davy Jones |
