Juliette Has A Gun

Juliette Has A Gun

A Poem by Jessica Elaine Stevens [Faiteach]
"

and she fired it.

"
so now that i'm with you
i know i am no stepford wife
i know i am no towering princess
i am not, was not in love
because our hearts were united
by my hands, covered in blood
from the sacrifice of my poor Prince Charming
given up
written off
thrown away
my Romance, neverending
a new beginning built on sacrifice
i stepped down from my pedestal,
divorced my fairytale
to touch hands with a pauper
because i'd rather be a Real Woman
and live a Real Woman's Life
than a made up life
made up for a little girl
shining Romeo is meant to die
and i, fair juliette
am meant to resurrect
and seeing him dead-
took him for a fool
and took you instead.

absolutely one of my favorites i've read on here, this was amazing :) i loved the continuous flow of it worked so well and the word choice was so perfect too. not to mention the idea and notion behind this, that was great too!

I love the flow of this, and the style. Very well written, and for some reason the topic really struck me. The Romeo and Juliette, Prince Charming, and Stepford Wives reference added to the overall tone.

I agree with Diomaz, the grammar freak in me wishes you had captalized your I's, but even so it is a great poem.

Struck the ultimate spot for me, dunno why.

It was fantastic, well written, although I still wish you'd capitilise your 'I's D:

But another great read from you :3
