Glitter in their Eyes and Glitter on your Cheek

Glitter in their Eyes and Glitter on your Cheek

A Poem by Jessica Elaine Stevens [Faiteach]
"

They do it for a reason.

"

 i cannot trace for you

all the places my soul has been

with Red Light District eyes,

lips, hips and legs,

with thin pale flesh

speckled soft gold-

i will be Cold for you

a cash-bought w***e,

let's spend another night

in pain together-

let's hurt again.

i thought without you

the words would never rise again

and speak into my ear

because .... you inspire me ....

a song fit for a King

a heart that prays to God

your throne is too high

to climb to in these Stiletto heels

i will be content in de-basement

i will walk through the valley of your shadow-

i started selling myself online

but i never took cash

all i got was heart ache.

i am no romantic heroine,

strung out, skinny and immoral

i am a beautiful shard-

i am not the girl you love,

i am the stone round her finger

the heart you hurt and hardened

i was cut down, constructed

to satisfy a need

go ahead be greedy baby

i am made of sugar-coated dreams

i can please the here and now

until it's gone

and you're left with that

twisty, sickly, stomachache

'cause,

Nothing Gold Can Stay
