The Human Condition

The Human Condition

A Poem by Jessica Elaine Stevens [Faiteach]

 Shake shake and stutter

I'm such a fragile

Little Thing

Marsupial-

I carry misery in my stomach,

Shiver shiver and chatter

I nibble at this winter chill

and line my guts

with icy muddy water.

Face down,

Bottom Feeder-

I have a brilliant mind

and a troubled, wavering soul

Stubble on my chin

from gravel under my skin

Birth Marks

collected from a Breach Birth

into the dirt.

I come from nothing

and my Legacy

is to achieve greatness

with a backbone made of sand.

I am singular-

          Unique-

               Grubby Snowflake.

I am a picture perfect-

Travesty.

And I-

Shake shake

Shiver shiver

Stutter chatter

inconsolably

                                Alone.

This is from a long while ago I know but I love it, the mark of humanity from birth is a concept I've wanted to write about but never have been able too. I love your style of writing and I hope you're still writing today!!!!
