Blue, Blue Snake Eyes

Blue, Blue Snake Eyes

A Poem by Jessica Elaine Stevens [Faiteach]
"

Some of us are lucky, some of us are just smart.

"

Callous vengeful lover,

I believed once

you could be sweet-

you said such sugary things.

Stubborn hateful player,

your music is as rigid

as you are.

I cannot forget the notes on your strings-

and I'm tired of writing

about your wrong doings-

please let me sleep.

Instead,

I'm playing a game

of Russian Roulette

with those

Double Barrelled Guns

of Fate.

Daring Her to put you in my path-

heart pounding in my feet

to make a smaller target.

I should be anywhere else

than the places where

I know our paths will cross-

I should be everywhere else

where I know our paths

will not.

And Lady Luck takes aim,

its five o'clock and the work day is over

I search the crowd for your face,

I hear Her fire-

inexplicably

She missed.

such a lucky Fate is mine.

wow, great metaphorical analogy, i loved how you created the scene. and how the events moved in a swift pace. and action, like the lover's scorn and executed, great job
