Dial Tone

Dial Tone

A Poem by Jessica Elaine Stevens [Faiteach]
"

A relationship with Silence never goes both ways.

"
i call for your misuse
the dial tone of your abuse
teary eyed and praying,
you will be alive on one end
saying,
"i am here for you"
but the busy signal beeps
and a recorded message speaks
and i know you are not home
or deaf and all alone
or just ignoring your phone
because i call and call
and call again
to get another busy tone
and know that i am on my own
if i can just accept defeat
and let the ringing ring and repeat
then perhaps i could go to sleep

there are people you love so much more than me. just tell me the truth. let me leave. let me be free. because i cant keep knock knock knocking on your apathy.

A nice take inspired by a song...I love seeing writers inspired by other's creativity.

I see...it makes a lot more sense. Nevertheless, I felt the anxiety and frustration from poem.
Deeply rooted in one's soul to hold on with that last bit of hope. Well done, great poem.
