Strangers in the dark.A Poem by zoeeyx
There are times in our lives,
When we let our guards down. To open our hearts to the unknown, The strangers in the dark. The owners of lonely hearts, Minds open to the slightest suggestion of love; Wooing, cooing, wining, dining. Whispered in ear, enthralled she listened. Is there no protection? Our inner detection of what to fear from the strangers in the dark; Singing songs as if, a lark, disengaging hearts. Shedding our defense from such predators, Smoothly moving through the dark. Deep recesses of the mind, a spark in a heart torn apart. We cry out to be amorous, They use that weakness, an emotion of; Affection, desire, want, passion, ecstasy to enfold in all altruism. The stranger, owner of hearts, in his farce, Enchanting, mesmerizing, spell bound romance, to breakdown compassion. Making love to her mind, Dancing, prancing. Charmingly chivalrous, kind as prince charming; Manners un-alarming, her mind is totally enraptured - blinding senses. Not seeing what lurks stealthily in the dark. Lurking strangers in ebony, Holders with no concern; Destroying self-esteem, the lonely of hearts. She relents her guard, taken for granted, Love bled hard. Her desire destroyed by the stranger in the dark, And also, no longer visible. Dying in the hollow of her heart. © 2012 zoeeyxFeatured Review
