The RoomA Poem by Britt WorthHow much longer can I walk this road alone? You told me you would follow, but I guess I should’ve known You were only there to push me, deep in a locked room Only filled with flames and an unavoidable noose. I didn’t mean to start this I didn’t mean to care But what else is there to do When your heart is barely there? So, I stop pounding on the walls Pleading with my God That maybe, just maybe, This is just going all wrong. The flames climb higher But I scream to God for proof That maybe love is real Maybe it is true But the fire licks at my flesh And I curse God from within With no one left to save me I commit my last sin.
