it's simpler than that..

it's simpler than that..

A Poem by destiny_bacardi
"

realizing the person you want to be may be simpler than we think ...

"

The world is big with lots of places to go

and full of obsticals and challenges to help you grow

but no matter what happends no matter what you decide to do

never give up on your dreams and always be you

we try so hard to find out who we are

we keep wishing for the future when it isnt that far

we try so hard to find that place we fit in

we lie we fight we hide and we sin

but one day we'll realize its simpler than that

some of us are shy some misunderstood some fat

but thats what makes us who we truely are

that one in a million that shining star

and until that day comes when we finally realize

i'll be here with open ears and ready for your cries

You've really stuck to your theme you presented in your title. This was wonderful. It's just as simple and being who we are, and being the best versions of ourselves. I'm not really sure what to say about this poem, you've seem to say it all. A little piece of me is bothered by the fact that "i'll" in the last line needs to be capitalized, but that really doesn't matter, the overall message, flow, and simple rhyme scheme just fit together so perfectly, that this poem is marvelous.

I guess, with realization, there should also be an acceptance of one's real self. Otherwise we will constantly and continuously model ourselves on others, trying to be 'better'. It may not be an easier path to that, but it certainly gets easier once we cross it. An idea simply and beautifully worded. Good job.

I truley love your writing style, not come across a poem of yours yet that I haven't liked. They've always got a brilliant theme, they're always emotive, and the poems are always pulled off well, with a good rhythm and rhymes. Another fantastic write of yours, thanks.

I agree with this poem. We must never give up and reach for goals and dreams. I like the way you made your point in the poem.
"never give up on your dreams and always be you"

This is an amazing piece, it carries so much truth! If I may offer you some advice, though, perhaps it would be even nicer if you place comma's between certain parts... Just a silly idea of mine... :)

Very well done!

Sounds like something God would say. and when we can be comfortable with ourselves, inside out, we find who we truly are. you have a profound wisdom in your words that many may never realize. very nice.....

Truly a masterpiece. Life is just so cruel in how it appears to be some type of complex mahine, yet all we need to do is be ourselves and the gears will run smoother than trying to be somebody else. Great poem.

Life is neither fair nor easy... or even all that forgiving.

But people don't HAVE to be mean. Just once, they don't have to be petty and hurtful. I wish you well.

perfectly put. we spend the first part of our lives trying to be ourselves, the next trying to be what others want us to be, and the latter part of lives trying to get ourselves back.
bravo!
