Pretending With You

Pretending With You

A Poem by Decere Tiozon
"

I had fun playing games with you

"

Your insecurity is bleeding out from the seams

A wonderful relationship you say?

From the looks of it, I think I just dodged a bullet

I’ll admit: it was a wonderful play

It was nice pretending with you

Thank you for ending it all together,

So I didn’t have to do it myself

We’re finally in the same page, in a single letter

I had fun! I hope you did too.

It was exhilarating while it lasted

I hope it doesn’t end on a bad note

Though there’s a bittersweet twinge that I tasted

Protect your pride

Say whatever rumor you’re going to say

All your friends will be on your side anyway

And I’ll give you a condescending smile, saying okay

Well spoken! Breakups are always so bitter and this is a great expression of someone who can just rise above.

Yup! Be happy of the time together, but move on. Dwelling isn't fun anyways :)
