Puppets and Pawns

Puppets and Pawns

A Poem by S.F

Shackle your minds
Sew your brains
With the filth and lies
We feed you today

Lets play a little game
With different faces and names
Yes, a bloody masquerade
Of myraid masks and chains

Paint your shackles gold
Now you wear a gown of threads
Polish you ignorance silver
Now it is a crown on your heads

Dance, dance infidels
On the blood-stained ground
The gold will soon fade
Into your black shrouds

March, march rebels
Isn't the view so great?
Reeked with blood and flesh
The best scene on stage

No, no, we don't wield
The sword of slaughter
Your golden hands do
The lovely handicraft

No, no it doesn't matter
Your race, your religion
Your age, your position
All blood runs cold on our stage

So here's our little deal
If you want to breath our oxygen
Cut the vultures that make it
Then cut the vultures who steal it.

Puts control into my mind...the societal barriers and division, corruption and lies...nothing changes as such, just different suit, same people...and the world spins round, enjoyed xo

Thanks! :)
You weave quite a tale, S.F. I especially like the, "sew your brains with filth and lies..." as well as the whole gown, shroud, fabric metaphor. Well done!

I'm Salma and I write poetry. I believe that books are rather eccentric objects. Saviors and weapons at the same time. You see a clump of paper stitched up neatly and when you open it, all you see ar.. more..
