NostalgiaA Poem by Desiree Stem
I miss the way I used to look at you
Innocence releasing its barrier I caught myself lustfully thinking Then hopelessly returning into reality Dismissing any thought that would bring false hope into my delusional mind. Grasping the sparkle in your eye That inevitably sucked my breath straight from my lungs. Finding a ridiculous excuse just to get to hear your masculine voice. Your smile is the brightest and whitest among any star I've ever seen I was unashamedly starstruck by your charismatic, effortless persona. I looked forward to each day I caught a glimpse of the human being who I thought was no less than perfect Passing alongside of you for the slightest millisecond would make my heart pulsate through the feather-like walls of my chest. I observed you like you were something I've never seen before, Simply because, you were. I long to think that you are the same person you were when my juvenile eyes immediately encountered as the single angel among the mass of demons. I ache for the way I once looked at you, Because now, It's a constant reminder That you are not the same person I naively thought you were.
