Once, Twice

Once, Twice

A Poem by Jarrett
"

Hmm... An abusive relationship

"

Love me once, love me twice
I only see all that is nice
Say it once, say it twice
You trapped me with spoken device
Love me still, til death do us part
For you I'd kill, be still my loving heart

Scream at me once, Scream at me twice
Oh what did I see that was so nice?
Hit me once, Hit me twice
"I made you do it," denial and lies
Love be stilled, for death is not so far
For you I'd kill; don't break my gentle heart

Betray me once, Betray me twice
The fists and screams don't sound so nice
Beat me once, Beat me twice
"I still love you, baby" oh how I despise
Real love brings not one to conceive death at heart
For Thee who had to kill to save who they are.

I Love It Cousin. So True.

You retell the very sad story of abusive relationships in such a perfect manner...
Great structure, I must say- the way you placed the words really sucked me into the tornado of emotion that this poem created, like a vacuum...
