Vapour

Vapour

A Poem by dermal_plating

Crushed rock and powder burns

Cries of anguish and laughter echo
throughout the twisted carcass of civilised bourgeois society

The spiritual awakening that promised so much
has now become a bloodbath
And the traitors who once perched malevolently above us
cry into their brandy, repenting their sins in a drunken stupor

What once was tangible is now a mere haze
a vaporous form shifting in and out of the physical world
Lifes riddle remains unsolved
and borders remain unchanged, unbroken
But the smell of gas will never leave
the minds of those who cowered
as metal fell from the sky

The words here are as savage as the themes you embrace, as treacherous as the mud where ideals were drowned. I am haunted as the spectre of death slips by held aloft by yellow mist. Nice write, my friend.
