I smell chocolate-chip cookies
why did you do that
divorce me

I remember you cooking these
for us and the kids
like heaven

The scent screams
at me now like a tigress
angry fearful

I don't know the
formula
for baking this

day into night into
flight into sight
there I am

Whole of something
made of something
costing time and
