Two Stains

Two Stains

A Poem by Dennis Willis

Red and black
Wine and ink

Wink
As I sit down

Welcoming
Creak

Of the old chair
Settling me down

To my spot
Sturdy

Under the weight
Of all the words

Knowing
It'll lighten

Wine lessons
Ink drying

Paper rumpled
In my hand

Grapes squeezed
Onto a tree

Completely
silly

A two dimensional
Soul print

I am here
with you

Staining
Us
