Random Muse

Random Muse

A Poem by Denise
"

randomness that started to take shape

"
Mirrors painted black to hide the truth
Wipe clean the smear and fan the fog

Though the surface is smooth, flawless
Behind the beauty, spider web cracks mar perfection
Itching to claw away what is seen to
Release the shadows waiting to shatter it all.

Mirror mirror on the wall…
Step into my world and hear my call
Shatter the glass with your eyes
Pierce the heart with the lifeless pieces

Close the eyes and wander deep
Deep into oblivion and fear no return
Travel the paths of nerve endings
Firing information with
    random sparks

Sending codes to the heart
Leading you away
    Away from solid ground
Reality drifts in and out of focus
Swept away on pillowy cushioned paths

Stress, stress, stress
    And more stress
Gone.
Focus on the winds of
One.
    Two, three…
Four. Breathe.

Open eyes to personal peace
Senses in tune to the
    Beating of the heart.
Black, red and gray has disappeared
Replaced by no color.
Every color.
    Light.
Shining down showing you the doorway
    Doorway to the truth.
Happiness.

It was always there and always will be there.
Stop. Breathe,
    You shall find it.

Author's Note

Denise
So I haven't wrote much lately and feel rusty...I didn't really have a direction so I just started to write by letting my mind take me there. This isn't exactly a poem but just a muse to get the juices flowing...just an idea of how I brainstorm and where it leads me...many times it leads me into a poem

“Isn’t exactly a poem,” I would have to differ on that ideal; the poetic voice in this is superb!

“Close the eyes and wander deep
Deep into oblivion and fear no return
Travel the paths of nerve endings
Firing information with
random sparks”

A place of creation, a place of discovery, your muse took me to inspiration!

Great Write!

Tommy

isnt that how it works ? just let go , get out of the way , we open our hearts and then before our eyes - happiness .

Loved your author's note as well as your poem.. it shows your creative flow.. There was a magnificent feeling of escape for me here.. leaving the darkness behind and finding light and life... breathing it in... a cleansing.. So well done.

I'm still quite new to the writing world other than the fact I enjoyed and excelled at English through my years of school and college. I mostly just write poetry because of my scattered mind and deep .. more..
