Saving GraceA Poem by Denisefirst poem back after 2 year hiatus. obviously dedicated to my beautiful child born 4 months ago
I come back from a deep sleep
I come back not with words to weep. I smile wide in the eyes of innocence I smile with pride and not with ambivalence. Staring back at me this child of mine With character and personality yet to be defined. Hardships and tribulations I have faced But you my dear, you are my saving grace. I tend to your needs and see to your whims I rock you softly, on the sweet gentle notes of a hymn. Skin so soft like the petals of a flower You my dear, you are my love, my joy, my power. Today there is joy, tomorrow is unforeseen and the past is in its place But you will always be there my dear, as you are my saving grace. © 2013 DeniseFeatured Review
