Penny

Penny

A Story by Autumn May

I am a penny. Most think I'm useless, left behind because I wasn't worth it. A penny; The unwanted one, The forgotten one. I am a penny; unseen by most because I am different. I was made different, i sound different, i look different.

What is a penny? What is it's worth? Its use? A penny is different from others, A penny is dull,The least worthy of the bunch. A pennies is surrounded by other pennies and yet most alone.

I am a penny; Once I thought that was bad, Once I hated it, But now, now I'm glad

A penny for luck, A penny that helps, A penny for wishes, A penny for thoughts

I am a penny. I'll give them luck. I help them out. I grant them wishes, I'm there to listen.

I may be a penny, I may be different. But what is different? Is it bad? Different does not mean bad, Different does not mean weird, Or mean, Or dangerous

I may not be worth as much, But to one I may be worth it all

I may be dull, But I can shine if you let me

I may be forgotten now, But one day I'll be remembered

One day I'll shine, One day I'll glow

A penny is always worth it. It just takes a little more to recognize it, but once you do the whole world will wish to be A penny too.

I'm glad to be a penny
