Know the Story Not the Name

People should get to know someone before they say things that could hurt others. Be the person that go's to all the trouble to know someone's story, no just the persons name

Why does our community freely choose to be so mean

They make people feel unworthy sometimes even unseen

They want to see frowns 

Where there could be a beautiful smile

They only knew your name.

Not your favorite book or your favorite song

Or even if you cry yourself to sleep each night

Nope just a name 

Your name 

They didn't bother to find out your story

Or if you had lost someone close recently

Or if you have a broken family

They didn't stop and think could this be your last step

They didn't want to belive that they could actually hurt someone

People have been called to many names 

You have experienced to many deaths 

Your invisible floor just became a hole

You are falling deeper into depression 

You wake up every night from the screams that eco through the air  

You even stay home from school to avoid all the rumors

To many names have been called and not enough story's shared

The world needs more love and less war

They need kindness to overrule hatred

They need smiles to cover frowns

To many people are bullied and made fun of

To many people self harm to escape the pain others cause

To many people have tears that are their lullaby

Know someone's story before its to late

Before they are gone 

And lost their hope 

Before they lose their faith

And lose their battle

Be the one to change

Help someone smile when they feel they cannot

Show people that you care and that you will be there

Get to know someone's story not just their name

Because you never know 

When their story's going to end

You've written an emotional write about a subject that happens too often...prejudice and judgment. Yes, people should at least get to know someone before making any judgements and even then they should not voice them...words can cut deep into the spirit of a person.
