The cityA Chapter by deng
Even from a distance, you could see the glitter above the city. It was, of course, caused by fairies, hard at work. The sweat, from all the effort, used to get their work done, dripping off, and reflecting the sunlight... A beautiful sight indeed.
And it's a well spent effort as well. You could tell, by the fauna, spread throughout the whole place. There were fields of flowers, grassy fields, where kids were running around, playing games. There were trees in the middle of the street, keeping shade on those hot summer days. The city was overgrown, yet it didn't seem like it was harmful for the buildings. Certainly a good job done, by the resident fae and elves. Citizens were all busy with their own agenda. Humans, centaurs, elves and fae. Walking, running, strutting, and flying. To get a better look at this spectacular for us sight, we could easily borrow the eyes of, say this passing dwarf. A whole day, spent in the mountain to the side. Mining, digging, and now, transporting the ores back. Heavy physical labor, dust and rocks everywhere. Due to racial privileges, we can ignore the darkness, cold and muscle fatigue, that would usually be inconvenient for such work. So, we're out of a hole, feeling good about the work we've done, up until this point. Pushing a mine cart back to town. covered in dust. The first thing we'd want to do, is get clean, of course. First thing after we drop that of at the smithy, we get a good shower, and then head on out, 'with a smile on me face', on our way to the pub, for a nice mug of Ale. © 2013 deng |
