Hushed

Hushed

A Story by demureminds

Last night, I stood there, simmering in what little specks of lustrous paradise I could get, admiring the fine luminescent grains plastered there for what I imagined was close to infinity. I can still savor the vibes of the cool youthful air rubbing against my skin, wisping past my face gently, caressing the strands of my layered hair, intricately. The black pavement laid there, bare, and the hushed melody of silence filled the cracks of the silver chrome sidewalk where I stood with a faintly recognizable feeling I called calm. I could hear the crisp puffy breath of cool air floating from my lips, mingling with the fine particles in the sky, embedding imaginary music notes into abstract nothingness. I could smell relief as it soared into my lungs, then out again, freshness taking turns, whistling transparent ruffles. I could see the gales of the night, streetlights flipping switches, green, yellow, red, tenfold. I could feel the lightweight feathered atoms colliding with me as I stood there stationary, envisioning the texture of aether licking the atmosphere. I could taste the purest form of the sky, tingling my nerves numb until I shivered in wonder of all the delicate feelings I took for granted. And then, I plundered deep into the smooth tranquil night, haze swirling over my eyes, symphonic melodies pleating my mind.
