Deeper

You’d be amazed

at how much

you don’t know someone

Beneath it all,

their secrets

chained down

so far,

you wouldn’t have

guessed it.

But sometimes, 

if you really look,

the secrets escape,

just for a moment,

and disperse

very lightly

across their face,

only 

to be sent 

down once 

again.

Very deep. Also a good message. I see this more as a Preface or Prologue to a novel rather than a poem standing alone in itself. One criticism though. Try changing "some seconds" to "just for a moment". It reads better.

Thank you and yeah I sort of just scribbled it in my notebook this morning and I didn't know what to do with it. I wouldn't consider myself capable of writing a novel though because it's quite time consuming and requires a lot more imagination, so I just kept it as a poem for now haha.
