A Poem by demureminds

As I invert my body

inside out,

I’d show you my mind,

so you’d know

what I was thinking

And I’d let you see through

my eyes,

for in case you wondered what I saw

And you could borrow my lungs

if yours should run out of breath

And I’d lend you my stomach

for when you can’t keep yours down

And I'd trade with you my nerves

so you’d never feel your pain

And I’ll bound you with my tendons

so one piece we would attain.

But as for my heart,

I’ll keep that contained

for in case you left,

a part of me

would still remain.

Wow! I love this poem.... You have the skill to use words to explain your thoughts without leaving the reader behind. Great skill.

This is a very sweet and touching poem that quickly put a smile on my face. The message seems to be that you would give anything for this person you're addressing, no matter what pain it causes you, which is a great way to feel. I wish more people could feel this way, but it seems that a lot of people are just too selfish these days. :D This is a great poem, I enjoyed reading it.
