little vampires

little vampires

A Poem by doctor's diagnosis
"

wearing robbin's-egg-blue scrubs and scuff-free white nikes.

"

little vampires, with their
robbin's-egg-blue tourniquets,
steal every last drip (drop)
of your blood from your (not as)
swollen (as it should be) vien.
the one in the crook of your elbow.
the one right about all the scars
left behind by your lover('s lips),
your cold, metallic mistress,
which have been healing up
fine (for quite sometime).
for by now you've moved on,
ripping and shredding somewhere
a lower: your pale, toned thigh.

(they wonder why you stopped wearing
those short, short skirts.)

Hmm, personally, i think all lab techs are part vampires. My fingers are filled with healing puncture marks from my blood glucose testing that i have to do. How i dislike my lancet with a passion, bordering on pure hatred. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.

Me neither. Too much hassle. (old work that is)
My recent stent on the gurney with "atrial fibrulation" has left me taking blood thinners -- meds not bad - no side-effects BUT weekly the vampire comes to check how I'm doing. Robin's egg Blue wrapped around my bicept -- I'm friends with all the phlebotomists. Are you?

Nice read....a little rough to follow in a couple of places, but I'm an "OLD" guy.
