What if?

What would tomorrow bring if today

had gone a different way?

Would there be the gleaming joy shown in our grins?

Or would it be tinged with depressing blue and our deep wish for the day to end?

Will there be someone worth protecting to step in our path?

Or will we be the one left in someone's aftermath?

Is there anything to change?

Or is it too late?

To change our fate?

Whatever it may be

These are the questions that may haunt

a person other than me.
