~Prologue~A Chapter by LazyxBumtrying out first person POV hope its good!!Tyler
Okay, so maybe you've heard of my sister's story, and maybe you haven't. Figures, she's not one to talk. At least, not anymore. Which is why I'm here; to tell my side of her story, what happened when she left and what we did to try to get her back. Plus what happened when she came back, of course.
Hey it may not be much, but at least I'm adding something to this. Heh, it's funny to think of what this all started from, an innocent encounter with what seemed to be friendly neighbors. Though that goes to show that looks can be deceiving.
Really, do you want to know where this started? Because I'm here to tell you. It all started one morning, back when I was about nine, almost ten. The day before had been busy, we had a movie treat, so I slept in. Yet Haily, the bundle of energy she is, was up and around long before I woke up. In fact, she was the one who woke me up, saying that our new neighbors were here.
Now, these new neighbors of ours we've known about for three months. They've kept looking around the house next to us, not to mention our own house. They seemed to take special attention to our home, but of course we passed it up as curiosity. But when I heard they were moving in, I couldn't help but be suprised. I mean, how long have they looked at the house and now they're moving in? That was stupid, in my opinion.
Instead of saying this though, I sat up and looked at Haily's violet eyes, which we both shared from some mutation thing mom talked about, smiling. "Alright, we'll go visit. But, you have to let me get ready first. I'm not walking out in my pj's to meet some people," I said, making Haily grin. All I heard was an "Okay!" and my door closing, leaving me alone.
Needless to say I got ready to leave. Haily was definitely the one to make sure you kept your promises. Not that I minded anyways. A few minutes later, I was downstairs, dressed in jean shorts and an oversized tee-shirt, dirty blonde hair brushed along with teeth and ready to go. I slid on my shoes just as Haily ran out. She was definitely the excitable one.
Following her out, it was a usual sweltering day in Florida. I mean, it's pretty and all, but it was HOT. We made it quickly to our new neighbors house with their shady porch. Their moving truck was already out of the way and everything seemed together. They must've done it last night. Weird, but I paid no mind to it when I knocked on the door.
They didn't seem dangerous when they came to the door, warm smiles and all. I didn't think anything odd of how they hugged Haily and took a liking to her immediately. I mean, who didn't like Haily? She was definitely a people person. Of course, after that, I thought nothing odd of how they came over, or invited her over, with us of course. I didn't mind that they paid no mind to me. Why would I care? They were just people that lived near me. No big deal.
Yet, little did I know there was a big deal with that. That there was more than the showering of love they gave Haily. That they paid somuch mind to her, taking her in so closely and seemed reluctant to let her go to her family. Now, I wish I knew more then about them than I really did. Maybe if I did, things would be different. © 2010 LazyxBumAuthor's Note
