My Christmas PoemA Poem by D. L. HutsonThere are times when we are so busy
That we forget the most important thing
That we’re celebrating this special time
The birth of our Savior and King.
even though this isn't the exact date
this is the time we set aside
To give glory to God for the birth of Jesus
And the true life his life and death supplied.
From Heaven up above he came
To do the father’s will
To save a wretched child like me
A calling only He could fulfill.
Even though it happened long ago
Its meaning today still rings true
But there’s another reason
That we’ve become accustom to.
We don’t take this time to reflect
On Jesus, The Lord of Lords
Our eyes are on the pride of life
To which we buy things we can’t afford.
Deeper and deeper in debt we sink
Trying to please man with destructible things
Trying to fill an insatiable appetite
That only Jesus, the giver of life, can bring.
But we don’t seem to realize
Or even seem to share
That this time of year we celebrate
And make the gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone aware.
It's time that our focus be put back on the King of Kings
Enough of this man Santa, of whom I have nothing against
But He didn't rise up from death; the grave is where he stayed
So please take no offense.
Nicholas Klaus was a good man, I'll agree to that
He did a lot of good and righteous things
But he didn't did on a cross for me
And he certainly didn't wash away all my sins.
I serve a risen Savior
That all the world should know of
I serve the God who created this St. Nicholas
who, by the way, just obeyed God above.
He did the thing that we should do every single day
He loved his God first with all his heart, and all his neighbors too
He thought of himself last
Isn't that the very thing that we all should do.
The world is always trying to take God out of everything
Well God created everything and He was here first
How can we, as HIS creation, continue to praise his creations
Instead of HIM, our creator, and not be cursed?
