Hold Diamonds to the Sun

Hold Diamonds to the Sun

A Poem by Kyle A. Smith

Hold Diamonds to the Sun

The piercing emerald sun seems to be shining brighter day after day.

Almost as if, from my dreams

Its soft, green glow washes over and completes the scars.

But this is the way it was,

This is the way it will always be.

I guess maybe I had just accepted

But what if it changes again?

I would not know this new color.

But I do detect a hint of ruby my good sir.

But I really like the hand I got dealt.

(Sparkling Misconception)

OOooooooHHHH! I love this poem. The end, "(Sparkling Misconception)" sent a shiver down my spine. I love the details in this poem, "Its soft, green glow washes over and completes the scars." Really beautiful and a fun read! I could clearly see everything unfolding in my minds eye. Wow. I especially love the "my good sir." It gave the poem a sort of fun and foppish feel. I really enjoyed it!
Cheers! XD

the end is my favorite......i love the obscurity. I like when I can't always tell what exactly is going on in a poem.....too many writers tell it like it is...they don't leave any mystery.

but not you! good job!
