Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by dementedreality

Little urges enter my reality, easy solutions to complex problems.
I pick it up and consider, my grip firm with determination.
I consider for a moment the consequences.
The darkness dawns on me as though the first light of morning.
A simple path arises and the weight of my history loosens for the first time.
I put the knife back on the top of the dresser.
I don't give up my light.
I embrace my pain, wearing it proudly.
I bring pain into every moment, it hurts so much that I laugh often.
My life is hilarious and the pain is a joke.
Now I can smile again and entertain.
I become the joker.
Dancing upon the great stage, watching from the front row seats.
What a great show, I laugh as the clown makes themself into a fool.
They put on a great show keeping the audience entertained.
No one knows the clown is in the audience, laughing along.
