Deny Me Myself

Deny Me Myself

A Poem by dementedreality

Listless forgotten and broken
Wherein lies the inner self?
Hidden away in the darkest depths
Beneath murky pools of stilled logic
Dig deep and you might find something
Shimmering gently in the darkness
Grasp at the star shine
Fear for the lack of breath
Your ascent leaves you wanting
The plunder clasped in hand
Was it all for naught?
Escape from your cruel fate.
Deny me not myself.
