Nothing to Lose

Nothing to Lose

A Poem by dementedreality

I wish to express, but not to you.
For what if you understand me and I am no longer alone?
I would have something to lose.
No longer alone in my isolation.

It is not meant to be for one as old as me.
The innocence of youth ne'er to be found.
Except within, where I lie unexpressed.
Never to share because the time has past.

Scarred flesh becomes my marred mask of apathy.
Know me as I say I am, for I hide within my vault of glass.
Tears of pain fill the vault.
If I drown who's to fault?
