Lullaby of Silence

Lullaby of Silence

A Poem by dementedreality

Why do you suffer me to feel?
Lost I was, in the lullaby of silence.
You cast away my doubt.
Brought my pain to light.
I want to know.
The pain that is seen in the light.
Please tell me why.

Will you support me as I fall?
Uplift my downtrodden soul?
I was free of my burdens.
As I was my happiness.
Now I am alone.
Will you be with me?

I fear to express.
Dare I say it?
Shadows cast upon a wall.
Do you see what they mean?

I shan't say.
I cannot have my way.

And so I suffer.
Yet now I am free.
Free to be with the pain I suffer.
Wherein lies my crutch.

It matters not.
Yet it is in the fore of my thoughts.
Will you be with me?
And yet I am met with echoes.
For now I am free.
As a shadow is cast, so too is a light upon me.
