Dear Daddy

Dear Daddy

A Poem by Charissa N. Wilkinson

Through an eternity I was your little girl,
But now you let the truth unfurl.
Am I just another lost soul
Left beside the road?

You were the one to chase my fears away.
You were the light in all my darkness.
Now I sit here and watch
All that you were fade from my eyes.

I see now that everything was just a lie.
I know not where to turn now,
That piece of my heart that was you
Is sinking away and soon will die.

Is there a piece that I can get back?
Is there a way to make things right?
Before the light fades away,
Please daddy, tell me I'm still your little girl.
