No Tomorrow

No Tomorrow

A Poem by Charissa N. Wilkinson

Slipping away into madness,
Falling into the dark.
Huddled in a corner,
While on the walls she marks.

She writhes upon the floor
And scratches through her eyes.
Her mind is getting closer
To finding out the lies.

She sits alone and wonders,
While slashing at her arms,
Why the world is out to get her,
Out to do her harm.

She comes to the conclusion,
As she dangles from the tree,
That she was never wanted
And now she will be free.
