Micheal Brown Senryu

A Poem by Baby Ricochet

Shots heard round the world
Blow up in a million faces
Now salt in the wound

Author's Note

Baby Ricochet
The Justice system is protecting Officer Wilson for killing Micheal Brown the same way we protected each other when we made poor decisions with tragic outcomes in Iraq. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, It's just what they're doing, that's all. What actually happened gets lost in a fog as the "uniform VS the mob" mentality takes over and the truth gets sweep under one end of the rug while angry citizens are setting the other end on fire. This is something white liberal types have a hard time with. Black people on the other hand know all about this kind of shit, just like the Iraqis knew all about it. It's one fucked up situation that's going to get a lot worse before it gets better cause it won't get better. This kind of crap never does. Just more bullets and Kerosene

Interesting poem
But the comments on it are more disturbing.

We have a justice system in this nation that was used to determine whether or not there was just cause for the shooting. Multiple witnesses testified that the very large man that had just robbed a store attacked the police officer, and the officer had every right to defend himself..... just like any other human in this country.

Dont get caught up in the black man vs. White cop.

It was criminal against the law and the criminal made a fatal mistake.

Three days later in Utah an unarmed white boy was shot by a black cop....
Where is the outrage about that shooting?
Did anyone even hear about it... or care?

Get the REAL facts before passing judgment

Ta=hank you Wilderness
each one of the lines by itself are fitting, true, and pack a punch, when put together it results in such a powerful, REAL, piece that you can't help but FEEL.. ignorance and biased, arrogant, preconceived stereotypes fuel the fire and unfortunately no one knows what exactly to do about it.. reminds me of a book I read once.. All I ever needed to know I learned in kindergarten.. think it should be required reading..

MB was in the wrong place at the wrong time doing the wrong thing. I have little use for cops, less use for criminals.

Me too. Thanks Marie
Yes it is. Need police officer to downsize problems. Not kill. Hard to understand new world. No real jobs and not bore kids. A mix for a violence time. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on a hard subject.

You are welcome.
Tough call and only two people know the truth. One of them isn't talking.

this situation seems to have no upside....and your poem is correct...a lot of salt is being poured into the wound.

That's for sure
It's hard to watch the town unravel but people's voices can't always be contained. I still don't understand why there wasn't more uproar over DJ Henry who was in his car trying to get his friends away from brawl outside a club. He was from my neck of the woods (Boston area), and a college student and football player at Pace University in New York. He was not part of the problem he was trying to get out of there. Shot dead. Then later that year they voted the cop who shot him, cop of the year. There is an arrogance in this country regarding young black men and that they are not worthy of justice.Although I realize every case must be reviewed individually I am sick over this and it will get worse before it gets better(if it ever gets better) because there is a long list of names who have suffered this fate, Michael Brown is the most recent one.
