Micheal Brown Senryu

Micheal Brown Senryu

A Poem by Baby Ricochet

Shots heard round the world
Blow up in a million faces
Now salt in the wound

Author's Note

Baby Ricochet
The Justice system is protecting Officer Wilson for killing Micheal Brown the same way we protected each other when we made poor decisions with tragic outcomes in Iraq. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, It's just what they're doing, that's all. What actually happened gets lost in a fog as the "uniform VS the mob" mentality takes over and the truth gets sweep under one end of the rug while angry citizens are setting the other end on fire. This is something white liberal types have a hard time with. Black people on the other hand know all about this kind of shit, just like the Iraqis knew all about it. It's one fucked up situation that's going to get a lot worse before it gets better cause it won't get better. This kind of crap never does. Just more bullets and Kerosene

Interesting poem
But the comments on it are more disturbing.

We have a justice system in this nation that was used to determine whether or not there was just cause for the shooting. Multiple witnesses testified that the very large man that had just robbed a store attacked the police officer, and the officer had every right to defend himself..... just like any other human in this country.

Dont get caught up in the black man vs. White cop.

It was criminal against the law and the criminal made a fatal mistake.

Three days later in Utah an unarmed white boy was shot by a black cop....
Where is the outrage about that shooting?
Did anyone even hear about it... or care?

just more bullets and kerosene. It is a complex and disturbing situation. And I concur its just going to get worse. Well stated.

You're writing shows that you are trying to make America a better place poem at a time. You stand up and point out what is wrong, the issues we need to fix as a nation. We need to be better neighbors in America, and you bluntly show us what happens when we aren't.

I completely agree with your author's note--it is a really fucked up situation. You can see it in the headlines since Micheal Brown was killed. I read a news article today that says the Cleveland Police failed to provide medical attention to Tamir Rice after they shot him--he was 12 years old.

thank you for your input. I appreciate it
Well written thought.
Right or wrong . . . Sad it happened to anyone anywhere. Even sadder, it will happen again.

Yes it will and did
You never shy from controversy BR thats an admirable quality my friend. I see they are thinking of adding cameras to police uniforms - My home town of Belfast bristles with more spy tech than most hot spots in the world (yes even now - in the 20th year of 'Peace') and yet many times these cameras have been conveniently 'malfunctioning'' when agents of the state (agents provocateurs, informers, etc) were involved in heinous crimes.

"When those who make the law are those who break the law then there is no law" - graffiti in belfast circa 1980s.

Let me shake you hand on this one BR

Thank you Rita
I was so mad cause they let this officer free for killing this unarmed teen for no reasons at all. I hope Brown parents are doing okay

"It's one fucked up situation that's going to get a lot worse before it gets better cause it won't get better." That one hit hard. It's always something different every time, and people refuse to see the gray lines for what they are. Issues like this are always sensationalized to the point of irrelevance because nobody knows the object happenings anymore and thus perceive it all differently because they are coerced into choosing a side.
You always speak the truth, no matter how bleak. Keep it up.

HANDS UP...DON'T SHOOT!! Well said BabyR. Today is"black lives matter" day, not black Friday and there has been a call for no work/no school walkouts for Monday the 1st. With so much salt poured into old old wounds it is past time for real cleansing. We really need a whole new system where this truly happens NO MORE. Thanks BabyR, not enough poems written about these outrages...
