Free verse rambling about relationships, fashion and teenagers at the mall

My girl dragged me to the mall 

I hate shopping for anything 

But I had no choice

When you live with a woman 

There's lots of s**t you go along with 

So she doesn't feel taken for granted

Women really hate that

and there's lots of s**t you take for granted

Like all the s**t she turns a blind eye to 

because you're a cave dwelling neanderthal 

and you do things that appall her senses daily 

and don't realize you're doing it 

But she puts up with you 

because she knows real men are savages

Hearts of gold, but savages 

It's a decent enough trade off I suppose 

The mall was swarming with teenagers 

Teenage girls make me feel conflicted

Because some of them look delicious 

But I'm in my mid thirties now 

So I feel conflicted eye balling them 

But I can't stop doing it 

because I'm a cave dwelling neanderthal 

I'm discrete about it though 

Because it ain't polite to stare 

I saw teenage boys dressed as girlie as the girls were 

I thought "This is what kids do now?" 

I found nothing objectionable about this 

Honestly I was kind of glad 

Cause that gangsta look was getting old

Pull your goddamn pants up kid

You look like a hobo 

I was in the Marine Corps man 

We didn't walk around with our asses hanging out 

There's no pride or honor in that look 

Your pants don't f*****g fit 

and no one wants to see your underwear 

So dress girlie instead 

I'm not gonna do it though 

I'm like a big f*****g dude 

and I'm in my thirties 

So if I dressed girlie and went to the mall 

to stare at teenage girls 

That would be all kinds of fucked up 

My girl's not gonna turn a blind eye to that

I do not shop. Ok, I buy groceries because well, hunger sucks but I loathe shopping. I dont queue well. I'm not fond of cranky children or butt cracks or the scent of OHMGmustyoumarinate in that cologne. So. But when I do go and the hub's eye lingers on some bit of fluff, I find it humorous.

This is funny BR. And some women say they can't take men anywhere. Making fun of everybody and everything, yourself included is a great touch. (Surprisingly, as you grow older, the age that attracts your attention does, also. At least, for me it did.)

I have to tell you, your slice of life writes captivate me. I could picture you at the mall with your girlfriend. Sure, smart guys go along with a lot of things they really don't want to.....because they know compromise is the only way to keep a relationship going. Not sure you are a Neanderthal....a Neanderthal could not write this way! Loved the observations of teens at the mall....I feel the same way when I see them and I am significantly older than you are!
