It's the talking to her as an equal part that screws guys up. She's not a Goddess, she's not stupid, she's not "one of the guys" and she sure as hell isn't five years old. So far as I'm concerned that's all there is to it.

This is a lesson for my teenage students... I suppose though that most of them will learn the hard way, after being shot down by a bunch of girls... Sound advice here, Mark.
Ha... Yes, this approach would most likely appeal to the vast majority of women out there...
In many ways we are all equal... Yet I believe there is a goddess within each woman every man should respect as something beyond and greater than his own capacity.
Likewise, there is the Devine masculine in every man deserving respect and deferential treatment.
Mutual respect is always a great place to start.
I like the basic premise here.
As true as it is mostly, not all women are the same. I have met girls who only like guys who treat them like goddesses, i had an ex who preferred men who gave her 100% attention, and my sister wants to be the center of attention. However, most women I met are pretty much like the women you speak of: They will prefer a man to be themselves. Its ALWAYS good to be yourself. If you pretend to be someone you are not, you will just hurt yourself in two ways: 1) She will be mad about you lying about who you are, 2)She may not like the real you (Dont say she wont ever find out, you cant keep up an act forever). I have lost many exes primarily because I act like someone im not or I lie about who I am. Truth is one of the main things a man needs to keep in mind when looking for love and/or preserving it. This poem reminded me about that. Thanks :3
